Sport Centres

Sports centres are facilities where either sporting events are held or visitors go to them to practice some form of physical activity. In both cases, the purpose of managing such centres is to extend the catalogue of activities undertaken in them in order to maximise the use of their facilities. Management methods can be: direct in own centres, indirect or mixed in public centres, or shared in private centres.

This typology comprises racetracks, football stadiums, ski resorts, sports clubs, gymnasiums and sports centres.

Leisure Parks

Leisure parks are sites that contain a series of attractions, places for entertainment, education, culture, etc., and are organised around a line of argument that inspires them. This theme line is an element used to distinguish the positions that confer the centre added value. A theme park and an amusement park can have the same attractions but are, however, two very differently positioned products.

This category contains the following centres: theme parks, amusement parks, aquariums, water parks, nature parks, adventure parks.

Shopping Centres

The main activity of such centres is commercial. However, increasingly more shopping centres undertake activities that are typical of leisure centres, and even compete with theme parks and amusement parks. Hence we consider them true leisure centres.

The centres where we can find this category are: large stores, hypermarkets, specialised shops, urban commerce, multiplexes.

Cultural Centres

Here visitors enjoy shows, concerts, displays, etc. They also tend to organise complementary restaurant and merchandising activities.

There are different kinds of cultural centres, such as: cinemas, theatres, cultural areas, museums, historic town/city centres, etc.
